If i understand correctly, for example, when there are 2 LL places in MD, they take the names of the highest ranked 3 guys who lost in last QR and random draw 2 of them?
You understood correctly.

Not sure it is a stupid question but what means a silent ban?

A silent ban would be a ban that is not announced. So whoever is silently banned can pretend he/she is injured instead as an explanation for not playing. Or pretend to retire, and then make a comeback when the ban period has passed.

No silent ban has ever been confirmed as far as I know. So it's all speculation.

Anyone knows?

Sometimes LL are really darn lucky too, at least there has been 2 different LL winning the touraments in the last couple of weeks
At ATP tournaments, it the highest ranking player who lost in the final round of qualifying. At Grand Slams, they take the top 4 players who lost in the final round of qualfying and draw from that pool at random.

Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

Does anyone know who holds the record for most consecutive holds of serve?

I know this is not a stupid question but i didn't want to create a new thread just to ask a question.

Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

Let's say Shapovalov does win Montreal and not be given a WC (USTA pride and all that). Will he be seeded if he qualifies, or will be unseeded? I think I remember players playing in Qualifiers that could be seeded on the main draw not be seeded (I think Mischa this year and I think Rosol last year in Geneva was an example) but I am not entirely sure. What are the rules for that?

Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

If the draw is released before the last qualification round is finished then there is no chance of giving a seed to a Q. If the draw is done after qualies are finished then a Q can be seeded.

Why is Hawkeye used in tournaments even when it can't be used on all of the courts?

A question...

Why do tennis players regularly blow into their playing hands?

Does it serve some purpose for enhancing grip?

Is it just another peculiar superstition?

Appreciate any feedback, thanks.
