Re: Rafael Nadal: Clay Warrior's Hunt for 50 Clay Titles, #39 comes where?

Nothing at all, we all know Rafa is insecure off court, but as soon as he has the red dirt under his feet, he turns into a cold blooded killer.

Rafael Nadal certainly needed this win to build confidence. But will it be enough confidence to return to hard courts against the best at Indian Wells or Miami? Well, hard courts are mostly irrelevant for this thread.

Monte-Carlo for Nadal's #39 on clay? No doubt he'll be the people's favorite.
But Nadal will admit that Novak Djokovic is the true favorite; he's #1 in the world and playing fantastic, no?

Respectfully,
masterclass
No, Djokovic is not playing fantastic. Murray was awfully close to a 2 sets to love lead in the AO final. That alone proves Djokovic is his normal shaky self. And Dubai didn't require anything special. Nadal is on a 3 match winning streak over Djokovic. The biggest factor in favor of Nadal vs everyone right now, is that Nadal is angry and hungry after missing 7 months. Hard to believe any of the top 4 would be more motivated than Nadal.

#39 in Barcelona

RAFAEL NADAL and GRIGOR DIMITROV

Rafa winning at least one slam in 10 consecutive years is the best achievement in Open Era tennis since Laver won all 4 Grand slam tournaments in the same year!

The number 50 is too low for Rafa at this rate what with the inclusion of the South American swing to his schedule and all. 65 titles on the dirt is more realistic

Madrid is next in line.

I want him to win Madrid this year. Three years in a row not winning that tournament is way too long for the Clay Warrior

Yup -- IW is certainly a clay-court tournament. In fact, wherever Rafa wins, it automatically becomes a clay surface.

#40 in Roland Garros IMO.
Yup, no Rome this year, dunno why, I just feel it.

But I can see grabing an 8th title in Paris.

No Rome? How about Madrid?

Rome seems fairly likely to be Nadal's if Nole wins Madrid or vice versa
