BTW, didn't you have the difference in Mylokostov's points when rankings of Sept. 10 came out? I mean, how could you know he would be sanctioned by point gained in Romania F8 for R2 default?
It was in the ITF main draw before the tournament finished "Default", I introduced a routine that recognizes this text and attributes 0 points. But it wasn't operational at that date. I can say for sure that it will recognize this from now on.

Thanks.
So, every default means 0 points for the defaulted player?
I couldn't find anything explicitly saying so in the ATP rulebook...
I didn't check the ITF rulebook, though...

I can't say for sure, it happened only once since my system is operational. Duong would be the man to tell us if it's the case for every tournament out there. My guess is yes though. If the game ends with Default, the player is stripped of prize money and rankings points.

Re: Unofficial Live ATP Rankings

I found it:

Quote:
VIII. THE CODE
M. On-Site Offenses/Procedures
4) Offenses
m) Default
iv) Penalties:
aa) Any player who is defaulted shall lose all prize money (gross prize
money to be paid to the ATP), hotel accommodations and points
earned for that event at that tournament
.
So, it's a rule...

OK, I guess that would be my guess too, but he's not stripped of the prize money:

Re: Unofficial Live ATP Rankings

Hmmm, might be an ATP site error. The prize money may be written in directly linked to the round, and someone may have forgotten to apply the penalty.

Why did Nishikori lose 10 points?

Kei is losing 15 points from the Davis Cup this week (note the color blue in the Drop column). His total of 55 becomes 40. Because a 45 awaits in his non-countable list, a 45 will replace his 40 Davis Cup points. So 55-45 = 10 points lost.

The picture doesn't seem to be working in the OP.

Where will Gimeno-Traver be ranked if he wins Sevilla or if he is runner up?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

Yes, it does here. Please try following the instructions located above:

If you have any trouble seeing the latest image, please clear your internet cache and try again... Help on clearing the cache: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html#fire35w

and tell me if it keeps the trouble-making for you.

Gimeno-Traver would be 92 if the other players in front of him remain with the current points they have.

Hanescu has passed him by reaching SF in Banja Luka, so Gimeno-Traver is now 93rd.

If Feijão (João Souza) wins the title in Cali, where will he be ranked, roughly?

Many thanks for this thread, it's immensely useful and interesting, and thanks in advance for a response.

If Mathieu wins Petange (highly probable), Gimeno-Traver will be 94th.

146th for a Cali win. Most likely position.

You need not thank me though. It is the purpose of this thread to answer such questions. Any question is welcome.

Re: Unofficial Live ATP Rankings

Alright, I have created an automatic week change algorithm, which I'm gonna experiment with tomorrow morning. It shouldn't insert any errors because it uses the methods from the manual week change, the problem is firing it at the right time (when all tournaments are done with) and keeping the task alive while waiting for them to finish. Also, creating a regular update task after the 8-hours long process is done. That's the tricky part.

This experiment will most likely continue next week, when I'm gonna be missing the weekend till Wednesday, so it has to know how to move on to the next week without me, otherwise it's gonna get stuck on the past week's rankings until I return. I apologize before hand for experimenting on you guys.

The bad part in all of this is that I couldn't finish my auto-synch algorithm, so I must synch with ATP manually. That means that next Monday it won't be doing that, so if there are any ranking errors, they'll have to wait until I return.
