yes but Bounccer spoke about keeping the number 1 until Shanghai, not after the US Open : the difference is only one week 298 weeks rather than 299 (keeping the number 1 after Djokovic has played Beijing)

If I am not wrong Fed will be #1 after USO no matter what. Am I wrong?

you're not wrong, Fed could skip the USO and stay number 1 until after Beijing (where Djokovic will play), that is 298 weeks at number 1 guaranteed, and 300 weeks (if he keeps it after Shanghai) now likely

Roger should play Shangai and skip Paris. I think he could skip it only if he reaches the final

fed will skip shanghai
skipped it last year and this year his summer break was shorter due to the oympics.

Je n'enlève rien à ce que Novak a fait mais je crois qu'il faut encore faire davantage. Rafa a neuf Grands Chelems, moi seize, lui deux.

How? If he'd skip USO he'll drop 920 points for 11245 points. If Nole wins USO he defends his 11270 points, so i don't get it

he said to the Swiss press that he will play Davis cup but I don't clearly understand the correlation between both : there are 3 weeks between.

I also think Fed will both play Davis cup and skip Shanghai though.

Re: Unofficial Live ATP Rankings

I will go out on a limb and say he WILL play Shanghai. Best strategy is to take a break before WTF and that would mean a miss at either Basel or Paris. or it would not totally surprise me if he played all as per his stated schedule.

Rather surprised he is doing Davis Cup though!!!

This is what I think as well. We know it's been a tough year BUT I think he'll play Shanghai if the race is really close. It remains to be seen how he's feeling after the USO.

3 weeks between Shanghai and DC and then another week off before Basel should be sufficient, especially if Novak/Muzz don't play Basel.

Re: Unofficial Live ATP Rankings

I think it's more likely to he plays Shanghai and skips Paris,he has already won in Paris but still yet in Shanghai(Masters 1000), and he has a huge fan base in China plus the tour is sponsored by Rolex. I guess he will play every other year in Shanghai,(08,10,12)
