Specify a time frame for a common basis for comparison.

During their peak years, of course:
1981 - 1988 Lendl
1996 - 2002 Kuerten
1989 - 1995 Courier
1982 - 1989 Wilander

It's between Lendl and Wilander. I would give the edge to Lendl as he got through the field a bit easier in his prime.

Re: Of these guys, who was more dominant at the French Open?

It would have be to Lendl really. He won 3RG titles in 4 years from 1984-1987 (finishing as the runner-up in 1985), while Wilander never defended the RG title (he won 3 titles in 7 years). Guga won 3 titles in 5 years but never reached another SF at RG, while Courier won less titles/reached less finals.

Courier at his prime was excellent though. His title defence in 1992 is surely one of the most impressive grand slam title victories of the open era, given how easily he stormed through a difficult draw.

After Nadal and Borg, Lendl is clearly the next greatest player on the clay of the open era.
