And all good players.

No Nadal, no Murray, no Simon, no Tipsarevic, no Raonic, no Karlovic.

Re: 4 One-Handed backhand players in Halle semis.

No idea when this last happened in a regular tournament, but the last major it happened in was also on grass - Wimbledon 1997, where the semis were Sampras v Woodbridge and Pioline v Stich. Interestingly, 7 of the 8 quarterfinalists were one-handers too, with Kiefer being the odd man out.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Savour the absolute pleasure of pure, unadulterated backhand porn, people...

Real men have singlehanded backhands.

They should all play with left hands tied behind their backs.

yeah I agree it's more visually appealing.

I do disagree with other stuff, but I shall not be a party pooper, so I leave you all here celebrating.

It's funny how people nowadays equate 2h backhand = clay and 1h backhand = grass. Once upon a time, it was thought that 1h backhand was superior on clay. Many all-time great claycourters had 1h backhands. 2h backhand was a freak shot which worked only in producing flat shots on fast courts.
