Kei Nishikori Back for Wimbledon; Fully Recovered From Abdominal Injury

He announced it on his website and twitter/facebook handle.

Great news. Obviously he won't be at his best at Wimbledon, but he can start building up his form again. Let's hope this is the last injury setback he faces, Kei has been tremendously unlucky with injuries ever since he joined the tour.

Good, hopefully Kei can use Wimby as maybe preparation for the olympics?

This is it. Federer has no chance of Wimbledon or Olympic gold now. I fear for Djokovic's #1 as well. The Japanese samurai is on his way

I hope he prepares well and does not disappoint his fans at SW19. What round did he reach last year?

Yeah, and more importantly the hardcourt swing, which is his best surface. Even with all his injuries over the years, he's still the highest ranked player of his generation, but he really needs to catch a break to fulfill all his potential.

Lost R1 to Hewitt, so he could win a few points if he lives up to his seeding.

As for the rest, maybe in 2016 . Right now, staying healthy for any period of time is challenging enough for Kei, let alone go deep in Slams/Olympics.

Its great to have him back on tour, especially a decent representative from Asia, but his game is really not suited to grass. Don't expect much at Wimbly.

Yeah, hardcourt is his best surface. I just hope he lives up to his seeding in SW19, so third round, maybe 4th with a good draw, especially since he's coming back from injury for the upteenth time.

And yes, it's great to see him back on tour. If it's not too much to ask, let this be his last injury setback, his career has been tragic in this respect so far.

He's still young though. Young as Donald but younger than Donald in many ways.

Yeah, he's young and has a lot of time to shine.

But his injury record makes Del Potro look like the luckiest player in the world injury-wise. It's like clockwork, every time Kei is climbing up the rankings, logging in some good results, injury strikes.

He needs to catch a break soon to have a chance at fulfilling his potential and having a very good career. He's still the highest ranked player of his age group, which is remarkable given the circumstances.

I'm relieved to hear that news.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

Shame, the draw would have opened up nicely in his absence.

No need to be sarcastic.

Just because a player can't win a given tournament, it doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve to be talked about just as much as any other player on a tennis forum.
