Halle R2: Kohlschreiber def. Kubot 6-7(5) 6-1 6-3

Very good tennis from Kohli from the second set onward. Awesome forehand return to win from Kohli. Kubot didn't serve as well the final two sets which ended up being his downfall, struggling with double faults and whenever Kohli got a second serve, he was stepping in and ready to attack it. Some great dipping returns that gave the net rushing Kohli problems.

Kohli served very well the final two sets and cleaned up many of the poor errors he made to lose the first set. Good performance overall from the defending champ.

to good really, Kubot was good in the first. Can Kholi go far this year? (he is the defending champ right?)

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....

Yeah, expected win, but Kubot put a really good fight right there.

Kubot had chance to win this match but especially the second set was deplorable, good from Kohli though.

Never ever give up

Chance for Kubot was in first game in 2nd set, when he had BP, since then it was one way finish.

Roger Federer - Martin Klizan - Lukas Lacko - Milos Raonic - Fernando Verdasco

Dustin Brown - Nick Kyrgios - Norbert Gombos - Stanislas Wawrinka - Dominic Thiem

Kubot did have his chance to start the second set with BP, Kubot was hitting awesome returns the first set and first game of the second set. But, as we see often with him, he couldn't keep it up, he started leaking forehand errors, and his second serve fell apart. He's not consistent enough and Kohli started returning better.
