Queens R1: Bolelli def. Gulbis 6-3 6-4

Very good, and very important victory for Simone. Awesome service numbers and did well to save BP in the final game of the first set and close things out in the last game where it went to 40-30 from 40-0. Hopefully he takes out Simon now, and I don't see why not.

Dropped just 10 points on his serve(2 of those were double faults). Simone has a great draw to go deep here. With wimbledon coming up he could use all the points he can get

I'm not a tennis expert, but I don't think Bolelli on grass is the most difficult challenge ever.

I actually think Bernard Tomic will easily win career-year mixed doubles slam in 2020.

Jealous? Yeah, you are, you dirty hater.

well he did make the 3rd round of wimbledon last year, when the grass is still fast. Strangely enough i think the fast courts are where he benefits the most now so wimbledon early and the fall summer hardcourts could see him do well

Grass is the surface where he plays his best for sure.

Yeah, I remember that. He beat Wawrinka beeing a LL in straight sets.
But still, I consider that one of a million miracles.

Whatever, Gulbis losing is always bittersweet... I used to like PeakUlbis, but that strange person never shows up. It's like the Slenderman

Remember when people thought Gulbis would challenge Federer and Nadal? Good times.

Football is one of the few areas of life where even if you're untutored, you can go to a ground and see George Best beat three men, and you can realise, 'I have seen genius.'

Gulbis loses to this clay clown on grass, more mugginess from him.

Re: QueensR1: Bolelli def. Gulbis 6-3, 6-4

I noticed this the last time I saw Gulbis in a televised match (against Kohlschreiber) - Gulbis' returning is atrocious. He's making ordinary servers look amazing. He's going to get owned in any grass match he plays so he should just go right to the clay challenger events and lose there.

Always nice when Simone wins a main draw match.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

Think Gulbis might retire soon. Not as if he needs the money and his form has been atrocious. Clearly has no desire to turn things around.

Re: Queens R1: Bolelli def. Gulbis 6-3 6-4

Bolelli has had his best overall results on grass, so anyone calling him a "clay clown" in relation to this match simply doesn't know enough about the sport of tennis. Of course, given the poster who made the comment, that comes as no surprise.
