Grass Court Season 2012 - Official Plucky British Losers Thread

Here we document the efforts during the grass court of lower-ranked British players - normally wildcards - who put up a 'brave' fight against higher-ranked opponents but ultimately of course lose.

1. R1 Queens - James Ward (def. by Kevin Anderson) 4-6 6-3 6-4

fixed that for you . For me this is the prime example of a serve-bot. The only reason he won a set, is because Anderson's level was very low and he visibly needed time to adjust to grass.

Ward, Golding, and Broady are all out.

2. "Promising" () Liam Broady defeated by Gilles Muller 6-2 6-1. No doubt, according to the British press, he gave a good account of himself and has massive potential.

Won't include Golding because he was beaten by another Brit - one of them inevitably had to win that match.

3. Jamie Baker, defeated 6-3 6-2 by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. But according to John Lloyd, there were "a lot of positives" out there for Baker :-)

does it still count if robson is really Australian ?

prob explains why she wins

God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God

She from the colonies, that is good enough. After all, we count Murray, and he's Scottish!
