French Open 2012, The Worst Ever Grand Slam in Recent Memory?

Three Top Players had scratchy from all the way.

Novak Djokovic,Roger Federer,Andy Murray.Djokovic played one Good Set all Tournament and it came yesterday for an hour.Federer didnt even play that. Murray played one good match against Gasquet.

One of the Top Seeds had the flukiest draws ever. Nadal facing Clownaco,Mugerr.

Discuss?

The only good thing you have ever posted is a photo of Gabriela Sabatini so congrats on that.

As for the thread, it's nonsense.

Definitely. I only enjoyed two matches all tournament (Wawa Tsonga & Djoker Tsonga). It's a travesty Tsonga didn't reach the semi-finals.

Almagro fought Nadal almost as hard as Djoker

Bjorn Borg:

French Open W (1974, 1975, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981)

Wimbledon W (1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980)

3 Channel Slams; 4 Consecutive RG; 5 Consecutive SW19

That's because RG is the worst Slam every fucking year.

Football is one of the few areas of life where even if you're untutored, you can go to a ground and see George Best beat three men, and you can realise, 'I have seen genius.'

It wasn't that exciting for me so yes. But it's not because Nadal won or that he had a "fluke" draw with Mugaco etc.

The QFs between Fed vs Del Potro + Tsonga vs Djokovic were great though.

The Penultimate Enemy to all Injustice

Federer was the pioneer of first-strike all-court tennis. This is the real tennis and the beautiful game. Never forget the beauty of what was tennis. Nadull and Fakervic don't win tennis matches. They simply outlast their opponent with endless grinding and stamina. That is ugly. Beautiful tennis is gone now. Never forget the good days of real tennis.

Tsonga . I'll never forget this slam because of that.

I would say it's the worst mostly because of the conditions and muggy scheduling. This final should have been played at 12 pm when the rain was minimal.

The match also should not have ended yesterday. The rain was constant throughout the day. It was not any worse at the point when the match was postponed than it was throughout the entire day.

Re: French Open 2012, The Worst Ever Grand Slam in Recent Memory?

There were some great matches: Wawrinka vs Tsonga and Djokovic vs Tsonga come to mind.

But generally it could have been better. It was also a shame to see Nadal face relentless chokers (Almagro) and clay court mugs (Monaco, Ferrer) on his way to the final, would have been better to see him challenged by players who had even a slight hope of hitting through him. He'd probably have won the tournament regardless of the draw, but it'd have far more interesting.

If you started watching tennis is 2011 and are a diehard Novak Djokovic nuthugger, then yes, it is undoubtely one of the worst grand slams in history.

Juan Martin Del Potro

David Ferrer - Tommy Haas - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Andy Roddick - Juan Carlos Ferrero - Mardy Fish

It was bad, very, very bad. Typical of the FO so nothing surprising there.
