Your top 5 favorites for Wimbledon

IMO:

1)Nadal
2)Federer
3)Djokovic
4)Berdych
5)Tsonga

4-5 are interchangable

Pushray gets an honorable mention, but seeing it as it's his home slam, he'll collapse to pressure.

Two of them are playing in the first round of Halle. It will be a nice preview for the Wimbledon final.

Re: Your top 5 favorites for Wimbledon

I would say it should be something like this:

1st tier of favorites- Rafa, Roger, Nole - in no order - just 3 biggest favorites
2nd tier of favorites - Murray, Tsonga, Berdych-in no order - those 3 can win and have chance for sure

Other than this nobody has chance - those 6 guys i think should be in QF, if something unpredictable wont´happen those 6 should be in QF and than draw will be important who will play who.

2-Whoever loses tomorrow
3-Tsonga
4-Federer
5-Berdych

Tsonga at 3 is just a feeling, can't really explain it but I feel he's going on a tear this year on grass.

Re: Your top 5 favorites for Wimbledon

I could see Tsonga beating Mugray in the Queen's Club finals. However, I do NOT see Tsonga winning Wimbledon or the Olympics. Especially at Wimbledon, to win he'd likely have to get by three big names in best of 5 set matches (i.e. Djokovic QF, Rogie SF, and Rafa F). That's just too much to ask of anyone to do, just ask Berdych (2010 W, beat Rogie in the QF and Djokovic in the SF, but got walloped by Rafa in the F).

Re: Your top 5 favorites for Wimbledon

Top 3 in rankings are the top 3 favourites. They actually know how to seal the deal in the slams which is far more important than the how conducive their games are to the surface. Sure it's possible for Tsonga and Berdych to win it, but would anyone be confident enough to place any significant wager on them? They are bound to screw at some stage before the final.

Re: Your top 5 favorites for Wimbledon

For Tsonga or Berdych to win they have to get by three big names to win it (i.e. Djokovic in the QF, Rogie in the SF, and Rafa in the F). Djokovic, Rafa, Rogie, and Mugray have to get by two big names (Mugray the least of the big names here with 0 GS titles to his name). Examples: Djokovic (Rogie/Mugray and Rafa), Rafa (Rogie/Mugray and Djokovic), Rogie (Rafa or Djokovic, and Rafa, Djokovic, or Mugray), and Mugray (Rafa or Djokovic and Rafa, Djokovic, or Rogie). This makes it virtually impossible for Tsonga or Berdych to win a GS. How Johnny Mac did it in the 1980 USO is amazing (QF 4 sets over Lendl, SF 5 sets over Connors, and F 5 sets over Borg).
