CH Prostejov F: Mayer def. Hajek 7-6(1) 3-6 7-6(3)

Jesus, this match was intense as hell. I'm obviously disappointed, but not hugely so, I guess because Jan fought so hard.

Hajek had 3-0, *5-3 and 5-4 SP in the first set. That is what did him in, had he taken the first set, he could have very well won it. In the third set, Mayer had *5-4 and *6-5 with two MPs in that game, and failed to deliver. At the end, Florian just hit some awesome returns and had a bit more firepower.

He showed a lot of positive emotion this week and fell on his back after winning, he was definitely very motivated this week and this event wasn't just a money grab for him. As for Jan, he's close to the top 100, hopefully he gets there within the next few weeks, could happen next week in fact.

Why olympic Games chaz, he won't get in with that Result.

But anyway, hopefully this will bring his confidence back and he can play like he did last year!

Hajek had plenty of chances in the 1st set, but failed to capitalise .Mayer was too funky and solid when it counted.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

Of course he will. He'll be 29 next week, and he needs to be 24 of the adjusted rankings (without the guys who cannot play the Olympics due to not playing DC or because they are 5th best in their country). You have to cut out:

Lopez (5th Spaniard)
Benneteau (5th Frenchman)
Dolgopolov (wasn't available for Davis Cup)
Granollers (6th Spaniard)
and Anderson (see Dolgo)

Anf if you saw his reaction after the win you would see that it meant sth to him.

@Brotree: Because he qualified for the Olympics

Oh he had to be in Top 24 of the adjusted Ranking, I didn't knew that. But isn't the entry list for Olympics in 2 weeks?

If he did qualify for the Olympics with this win, that is excellent Fought hard to find some form.

The better overall player won, there's no denying that. Tough loss for Hajek in the one tournament where he always excels. Back to mediocrity for him now.

BEMELMANS | CHARDY | CHIUDINELLI
CIPOLLA| ROGER-VASSELIN | MCGEE

Bachinger|Basilashvili|Brands|Broady|Clezar|Cuevas |Eysseric|Giannessi|Gombos
Granollers|Grigelis|Huta Galung|Ilhan|Kudla|Al. Kuznetsov|Mannarino
Menendez|Mitchell|Naso|Paire|Peliwo|Polansky|Rober t|Rubin|Smyczek|J. Sousa|Weintraub

That's fuckin awesome...No wonder he was so happy.....To qualify for Olympics at his age is great considering how hard Germany makes it to qualify....Really happy for Flo...and yes, back to mediocrity for Hajek He will mug it up the rest of the season now, especially on grass

It is a very good tournament, he is obviously happy for the win.

Happyness.. something that a troll like you can hardly understand.

Let's start with a easy lesson, then One plus one is equal to Two. When you will learn that, tell me! I'll teach trolls like you something more.

Well done Mayer. Straight onto the grass in Halle, and a 2nd round meeting with Federer if he can win his first match.

I feel pretty cut for Hajek.
