Roland Garros R2 : Giraldo def. Tomic 6-4 6-1 6-3

Solid performance from the future RG champ, just exposed the Nard Dog's improving but still poor movement on the clay. Giraldo hit some fine backhands down the line, but some big misses there as well.

Nard Dog time to prepare for the grass.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Expected, Tomic on clay is very beatable, he is not top 50 for sure on clay, Giraldo is decent clay-courter so he was clearly favorite for me. But Tomic should have won at least 1 set, this loss in straight-sets is not good resume for him.

Tomic had a decent clay court season. Seven wins at tour level is better than I thought he'd do coming in.

Now B-Nard can focus on winning Wimbledon.

Santi will have his chances next round, will be interesting to see how he handles himself.

Re: Roland Garros R2 : Giraldo def. Tomic 6-4 6-1 6-3

Giraldo played good, very solid from the baseline.
He could come to the net more often, 80% 1st serve was very convincing.
Giraldo is Top 30 on clay at the moment, but he has to add a bit of variety and increase his net game.

Tomis was gamewise kind of arrogant, he plays without much pace (as always) although he can hit much harder. He was not totally in that match, he could easily win one set but was not able to create pace or variety to win a lot of rallies. He only uses 1 of 11 breakpoints.
He is always waiting what happens (and on opponents faults) but he could create more of his own game to dictate more of the rallies.
Strange performance by him.

Disappointing year so far for the future GOAT. After Wimbledon he will be where he belongs for now.

I rate Santi, but still disappointing to see Tomic get beaten that hard.

Grass should be interesting. Hope he does well. Ajde.

The only reason B-Nard lost was because he was still fuming about being placed on a non-streamed court in his opening round.

You need to brush up on your knowledge of the game mate..
