Nadal on Suzanne Lenglen?

Why the hell did they schedule the 4 time defending champion and world number 1 on court Suzanne Lenglen?

Are Murray and Safin/Ouanna that more important to the French Open?

When was the last time they did this to a defending champion? Ivanovic gets to play at Chatrier.
I'm not a Nadal fan but I think this is highly inappropriate.

Discuss.

Re: Nadal on Suzanne Lenglen?

is that confirmed? if so, it just goes to reaffirm my impression that this is the worst scheduled French Open in many years.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Re: Nadal on Suzanne Lenglen?

I've read/heard, for whatever it's worth, that the surface of the SL-court is in fact a little slower than the PC-court, due to there being no cement underneath the clay or something the like (I'm not good at those technical details, someone else might well explain it a lot better than me).

So I wouldn't be all too surprised if Rafa (especially if he indeed has some kind of physical discomfort with his knees), actually ASKED for himself to play over there. Just a guess...

I'm sure Rafael was on Lenglen last year as well at least once?

If you are surprised by this, you haven't been paying attention since at least before Wimbledon 2003.

Nadull should be put to play at the parking lot called Suzanne Lenglen, some blocks from the Bois de Boulogne.

Yep, and he doesn't seem to have any problems with that. Much ado about nothing imho.

Re: Nadal on Suzanne Lenglen?

They are probably switching up the top players between show courts in the early rounds to be fair. Murray played on Lenglen for the 1st round.

That possibility is the only reason I will control my wrath and not post this:

Re: Nadal on Suzanne Lenglen?

Not that it has any consequence on anything though. SL does tend to play slightly slower than PC.

Re: Nadal on Suzanne Lenglen?

Every year he plays at least one match on Suzanne Lenglen.

Last year he played the 2nd and 3rd rounds on that court.
