Roland Garros R1: [Q] Haas def. Volandri 6-3 0-6 6-4 6-4

Filippo had three BPs at 4 all in the third set and did not get a return in play. From there he lost five straight games and Haas had BP to serve for a bagel final set. Filippo came back well and got to deuce at 3-*4, had plenty of opportunities, but didn't make the most of them. Disappointing, but Tommy played a good fourth set overall.

Tommy made a lot of errors (66 errors) but was the one dictating most of the play, constructed the points efficiently and moved Filippo around a lot, served well when he needed to. Against someone with more weapons I don't know if Tommy would have won, but Filippo didn't have enough to hurt Tommy in this match.

Great to see a great player like Haas advance over a poor one

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Filippo isn't a poor player. He played a pretty good match, kept with someone who is more talented and has the weapons. He would have beaten several other players, I'm happy with his performance, except on the big points.

Re: Roland Garros R1: [Q] Haas def. Volandri 6-4 0-6 6-3 6-4

Pippy was just horrendous...Clearly, that second set wasn't relevant...Haas probably wanted a breather before finishing the last two...It amazes me how Pippy is still in the Top 100 when he plays like a poor WTA player...So many wasted chances, just never seems "present" for an entire match...Mentally weak, no consistent weapons, just very poor overall...Glad to see Tommy disposing of irrelevant "haas-beens"...hahaha...Poor thing that Fee-Lo, now he can't shove it in our faces how Pippy rose like the phoenix from the ashes and beat Haas...Sad clown face for Fee-Lo V...Karma is a bitch, though...Oh well, Pippy and Machado can commiserate about thier irrelevancy, disgusting chokes and just laughable games...This result was always NID

Great to see Haas advance here. He asked for a WC, wasn't given one for some random useless French player, went through qualifying and now he's in R2. Delightful.
