Roland Garros R1: Kavčič def. Hewitt 7-6(2) 6-3 6-7(4) 6-3
Simply too many errors from Lleyton on the day. Blaz with the ace down break point in the final game was clutch, his serve got him out of several tight games. Lleyton played OK given his lack of matches, this match will have helped him with his rhythm, but just too many mistakes, couldn't hit through nor around Blaz with any consistency.
Blaz kept the error count low, and although he struggled to cross the finish line at the end of the third and fourth sets, he eventually was able to get the win. Big win for Blaz.
As for Mugray, what can be said? A disgusting human being, and awful player, and a choking pushing mug. He looks like a kemo patient, bald spots, hairless legs, pasty blotchy skin, busted teeth, and an ugly, snarling face. Typical antics all came out in this match: faking injuries, grimacing and cursing, trying to peg Fed, trying to start drama, undeserved final based on an exhausted old man and a joke draw.
I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....
Worst I've seen Hewitt return in years. Might just be the last time we see him on clay too.
But I like Kavcic so a good win for him.
I'd say Germany will select clay for their DC tie in September. They were meant to make the announcement last Friday but held on for a week, presumably to see how the Australian and German players faired at Roland Garros.
You're right about the returning though. Worst I've ever seen him return, hopefully it's just a matter of getting his eye in with more matches.
Hewitt wasn't so bad, had a couple of chances but you can see that he came from a surgery and had no match practice at all, he made a lot of errors and some simply shots are going wrong today. He need some time to prepare for the grass season with Queens and i think he will be ready at Wimbledon because his fighting spirit is already unbelievable...
Kavcic very solid today from the baseline and very consistent. Good win for him.
