Roland Garros R1: Verdasco def. Darcis 6-3 6-2 7-6(4)
Good win for Nando over a tough, fighting opponent, after things became sort of an adventure at the end of the third set. His forehand created a lot of damage throughout the match, and after a poor start with his serving, he got better with his serve in the second and third sets (until the end of the third), and served solidly enough in the tiebreak.
Steve fought very hard as he always does, but lacked the necessary weaponry to get fully into the match, made too many loose errors. Nando simply hit the ball with too much heaviness and pace for Steve to handle. Pretty decent performance from Verdasco overall.
