Will the top 3 win all 15 "big tournaments" this year?

Last year the top 4 won every slam and master series, is the number of contenders this year down to 3?

Already we have:

Federer with Indian Wells, Madrid
Djokovic with Australia, Miami
Nadal with Monte Carlo

All 3 seems to now be fighting for Rome.

I think the favorites to win the remaining tournaments are:

Rome (Nadal, Djokovic)
Roland Garros (Nadal, Djokovic)
Wimbledon (Federer, Nadal)
Olympics (Federer, Nadal)
Montreal (Djokovic, Murray)
Cincinatti (Federer, Djokovic)
Usopen (Federer, Djokovic)
Shanghai (Murray, Federer)
Paris (Federer, ?)
WTF (Federer, Djokovic)

+Davis Cup (Serbia, Spain)

Will the top 3 sweep through and win every big title this season?

Re: Will the top 3 win all 15 "big tournaments" this year?

Serbia's already out of DC - could only be Spain and it's unlikely Nadal will play anyway...

Answer to your question - no. Murray, Del Potro and even Berdych can snatch later Masters - Rogers Cup is right after Olympics, Paris I think might be skipped by all 3 as it's a week before WTF and Shanghai can often be odd too... They're likely to take the slams yes, but Olympics and post-Wimbledon Masters I think there's more flexibility.

As Olympics is best of 3 till the final you could get upsets there e.g. Raonic serving 1 of the big 3 off the court or one player being really hot for two sets. Very little margin for error on grass and I'd be shocked if there wasn't at least one surprise medallist....

Not with Ferrer around they won't.

I believe he'll peak around the summer time and potentially take the US Open if given a good draw.

If Berdych's form doesnt disappear he will be dangerous during grass season aswell as indoor season and tournaments like Montreal. Del Potro could peak during the american hardcourt season aswell.

However the question is if they are able to beat 2-3 top 3s, Federer-Djokovic-Nadal back to back might at times be required to win a big tournament. Very few of the power players are good playing Djokovic (only Tsonga) who is the most consistent top 3. If Federer and Djokovic become nr1 and nr2 you would have to beat both of them to win most titles.

This. If he can avoid Bellucci, Melzer and Monfils, there's no stopping him.

Murray will win a couple of masters and maybe a slam.

Berdych can also do damage if he can keep playing well.

Nah, there will be a spoiler somewhere, plus Murray will find his feet. I expect the Top 3 will take the rest up to and including the Olympics though, then things may change.

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

Roger // Rafa // Raonic // Söderling // Goffin // Ivo // Wawrinka // Baker // Delpo

I like this prediction. Would be a glorious development for tennis if Jo could make it.

Allez Jo!

Murray will win Shangai. Del Potro Cincinatti or Canada (or maybe the USO).

And also maybe Ferrer, Tsonga or Berdych can win a Masters 1000, but I don't think so.

PD: BIG mistake not mentioning Djokovic for the Olympics. He'll probably win them.

Cant see Djokovic 1.5 beating Federer on grass.

Murray loves winning M1000 titles out of nowhere (like Cincy or Shanghai)

Sorry, are you leaving Berlocq out of this discussion?

I actually think Bernard Tomic will easily win career-year mixed doubles slam in 2020.

Jealous? Yeah, you are, you dirty hater.
