An excellent tennis match. JesusFed was on display for moments here and there. Well played to Ferrero too for taking a set.

Also, sukit Mugro

Beautiful match, but Federer did disappear for a moment in the end of 2nd set.

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Re: Rome R3 Fed def Ferrero 6-2 5-7 6-1

Good fight from Ferrero. Federer was the better player throughout the match, but Ferrero still grabbed a set.

Highlight of the match was Federer winding up for a backhand and hitting nothing but air. The point for Fed to break for 5-1 was also really nice.

Supporting the unusual strokes gang: Dolgopolov, Mayer, Mannarino, Tomic

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

Re: Rome R3 Fed def Ferrero 6-2 5-7 6-1

Federer played OK,but always on this court he struggles to be consistent throughout a match.Against a top player it`s tough to expect him to win,but getting a few matches under red clay was his main goal here.
Any match win in a tourney where he has 0 titles is a good win.

Re: Rome R3 Fed def Ferrero 6-2 5-7 6-1

Fun match. JCF is an absolute legend and his performance today was great, came out and gave it his all, put everything into every point.

Fed for his part played incredible tennis from 2-2 in the first to about 4-4 in the second. Then he just went completely awol to throw away the set. Then showed back up in set 3 to easy mode it. Goat shots and Goat shanks all in the same match.

Nice tennis to watch regardless

Re: Rome R3 Fed def Ferrero 6-2 5-7 6-1

ferrero was a bit lucky to win the 2nd set. Coverted the lone BP he had and Roger wasted 3 BP.

Should have ended in 2 but Roger's victory was NID.

Tomorrow Seppi will be destroyed.

Congrats Roger.

I may have missed it, but did Lahyani overrule a serve, calling it in, that shot spot showed to be nearly a foot wide?
