Rome R1: [12] Almagro def. Cilic 6-2 3-6 6-0

Solid third set from Mucho but Marin really fell off badly after going up *5-2 in the second set. Lost conviction with his shots, started making bad errors, served poorly in the third set. Nico wasn't great at any point of the match but did enough to win, mostly by being the more consistent player, opportunistically offensive, and allowing Cilic to make the errors.

10/40 W/UE ratio from Cilic, only 29% of second serve points won, broken 6/11 times.

Excellent bonus to all the Almagro matches is lots of closeup of Juan Carlos Ferrero

not even funny or worth of bashing. just sad to watch. he needs professional help. average length of his misses is somewhere between 5-10 ft and average length of balls which landed in is on service line. Brett should be accused for abusing retarded child though

What was this 3rd set?
In the first set Marin held to love two times, and got broken two times. The easiest Almagro held was to 30 and he still won the set 6-2. Marin was better in the 2nd set and deservedly won it. I really have no words for the third set, wtf..

Marin get a grip and get it together

Cilic actually played pretty well for a fair portion of the first and second sets. I don't know what happened in the third set. Almagro really was there to be beaten today. Disappointing from Marin.

the saddest thing is that people beating cilic by getting out of their comfort zone and waiting for a miss which they knew will come

Re: Rome R1: [12] Almagro def. Cilic 6-2 3-6 6-0

Both players just giving away errors and BPO's, Cilic somehow managed to serve at 60+% 1st serve, which is much higher than his normal around 50%, yet he still won not as many points on it as he normally would, his 2nd serve defense was abysmal.

All I can say is I hope the tennis isn't this garbage tomorrow.

Marin was horrible. Just when you thought he was going to strike a winner after a long rally, he hit it just out. And this happened like 100 times.
