Simon was good the first two sets, but in the third set he was mishitting a lot, it was error after error from him. Tipsarevic was good throughout the whole match, he wanted it more. His first win over Simon. Janko well done

I'm beginning to see why many consider him a fixer. It really seemed like he was botching some of those break points on purpose

This must be the happiest I've been after my draw challenge is destroyed... Both Verdasco and Tipsa win

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.
Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Great Result I didn't expect it though.

Janko played some beautifully constructed points and outplayed Simon. Simon is too harsh on himslef, he reminds me of Murray in this regard.

Is this the record number of unforced errors Simon has ever made in a match?

Great win for Janko!!! Finally a win against Simon after some close matches in the past...He should have a shot against Nole tomorrow considering how Nole's movement on this clay is not that great.

People consider him a fixer because two years ago big money was coming in on him to lose a match (even at poor trading prices), while he was a set up, playing a clay-court specialist, on an indoor court, and in Russia. People quickly connected the dots.

Luckily he has moved up the rankings and isn't pulling that stuff anymore. Same deal for a player like Dolgopolov. Moving up the rankings was their saving grace.

Supporting the unusual strokes gang: Dolgopolov, Mayer, Mannarino, Tomic
