Almagro would have had a better chance. He was crushing the ball.

Obviously the HTH is heavily in Federer's favour, but Ferrer did trouble Roger last time they played in Madrid, so... Federer in 3.

Ferrer played great today but Fed has him figured out. Might go to 3 though.

Surface is way too fast for Ferrer to win vs Fed

today verdasco got first win over nadal. usually when such "impossible" things start to happen they are coming in series . won't be surprised if ferrer wins

Re: WWW Madrid QF: Federer VS Ferrer

If this was Micky Carlo-like ass slow clay I would give Ferrer a chance.
In this conditions it's going to be a routine victory for The Old Man.

Federer in 2 to set up a mouthwatering clash with Djokovic in the semis, where his run will come to an end.

Re: WWW Madrid QF: Federer VS Ferrer

Ferrer probably has the 2nd best record on clay this year. If Nando can beat Rafa I see no reason the 2nd best player on clay this year can't win over someone just coming back from extended leave. On any other surface I'd go with Roger but this being clay you have to go with the in form guy.

I just hope that David kept his composure and don't ask Roger for an autograph in the middle of the match.

Lol I see today's results highly distorted some people's judgement over here.
