Madrid R3: Dolgopolov def. Tsonga 7-5 3-6 7-6 (2)

Plenty of variation in this match, some funk, junk, fine shots and bad errors as well. Tsonga just before the TB had a bad slip.

The tiebreaker was at least better than the courts.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Madrid 3R: Dolgo routines Tsonga 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(2)

Easy stuff, no wobbles whatsoever. Completely un-up-and-down as per usual

GOAT tie-break.

Thank god my boy prevented No-Gamefried Clownga from winning another match on clay, would've been horrible for the game.

Exactly. Very up and down but also entertaining.

Dolgopolov should have won in 2 sets though.
He was clearly the better player and he will have a good chance against Cilic/ Del Potro.

Wonderful match from the Dolgo
Tsonga wasn't even in his usual clown mode today - he was just outclassed and left in the dust by mighty ukrainian

Great match. That said, the clay season can't end soon enough for Tsonga. Hope he at least keeps beating low ranked players. He's already done better than last season, with QF at Monte Carlo and R16 here.

Good win for Dolgo. Okay, it was only Tsonga on clay, but he needs to win these close matches against Top 10 players.

Dolgopolov was the better player throughout the match and deserved to win

Don't think that was because of the courts though, his slide was over, and as he moved his back foot he lost balance and feel sideways, he didn't slip on slippary courts
