Happens all the time with software. Example windows xp and windows vista.

Re: Endless Federer-Nadal debates (WTF vs Olympics)

The debate about the two is increasingly meaningless. Nadal will go down as the best clay court player ever. Fed will have the better over all record in his career. That's pretty clear by this point. Nadal will finish with a better head to head against Fed, but the overall record isnt even close between the two any more.

Until fairly recently Nadal was the younger of the two, as you will remember. Tenniswise he appears to be so no more.

Since it was always obvious he would not last as long as Fed and that his success would be too heavy on clay, it never really was an issue, was it?

That's the thing though. Much like MS, Federer keeps pushing out new updates and he's bound to have a good one at some point. Look at Windows 7 and Fed 8.0 .

It's true that longevity was always the concern about Nadal. Those predictions as far back as 07 are proving true. It was reported years ago that Nadal has some inherent physical condition that will limit his career.

Don't write Nadal off - we've all heard about his knee tendinitis before - he always comes back stronger. Most likely he'll win all 4 slams in 2013.

That's a recent quote.

LOL..now that's funny. That's a quote from some hack on this site. Not anyone with any credibility. I'm not claiming to be an expert myself, but the the talk of Nadal's physical limitations were coming directly from credible folks in the game for years. I have yet to hear anyone with anyone creditably predict Nadal even in gerat health will win that many more French Opens.
