How many Olympic gold for Sampras?

If anything, failing to win any WTF will be a black mark in Rafa's resume

I'm not comparing him with Pete. Yet, Pete hardly played Olympics when he was at peak. Pete was not able to complete the career golden slam. But, Roger had that chance to make it into that elite group. So, that keeps him away from 'career golden slam'.

Davis Cup / Olympic Games is a bigger one IMO, but you have a partial point this time.

So Rafa's lack of WTF title is a black hole in his resume but Fed's inability to win the Olympic Gold Medal in Singles because he got destroyed by non-Slam winners Murray, Blake and Berdych doesn't matter? Is that really what you are trying to say, Mr. Antonius?

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Simon - Berdych - Dimitrov - Chardy

Davis Cup is a bit of a different animal because it's a team competition (even though we know which player is more dedicated to it).

Federer said in a TV interview during the Olympics 2012 that he wanted a medal and Davis Cup in his kitty. Since both weren't there with him that time(round 2).

With a team of stan wawrinka and roger federer, why has Team Switzerland unable to win atleast 1 Davis Cup.

Rafa is 26 years old and the WTF is played every year. Rogie is 31 and now he will have to wait 4 years for another chance.

It's safe to assume that Rafa has a better shot to win the WTF than Fed getting the gold medal in the Olympic singles anytime soon.

Anyways, Olympic gold medal >>> WTF.

Debatable... Look who you have to defeat in the draw at the Olympics vs WTF.

You're really not that smart, are you.

When Fed retires he will have had the chance to win the olympic gold a total of 3 times (the last of those was when he was over 30). He failed.

When Nadal retires he will have had the chance to win the YEC (which IS a more prestigious tennis tournament than the olympics whatever you delusional Nadaltards may claim) a total of maybe 8-10 times. If he hasn't won it by then... you tell me who is the bigger failure of these two.

Also it warms my heart to see Chair Umpire coming out of his cave... have been in hiding lately will Nadal being Rosol'd and all

Olympics is played at the peak of the season, WTF is played at the end of it when most of the big names are already burnout... look what happened last year.
