Munich R2: Kohlschreiber def. Gulbis 7-5 6-3

Not too bad a match from Gulbis, but he double faulted to lose his serve at the end of both sets. That highlights the lack of confidence he has. Had 40-*30 on return at 4 all in the first set and Kohli got a letcord winner, which is a shame since Gulbis was really hitting out on that point. Match could have been much different had he won that point.

Overall, Kohli was too solid and dictated most points from the baseline, served efficiently. Good match from him. Gulbis still has some game, but is clearly not the player he was when he was at his best and doing great on clay in 2010. Worse in every single department, and his shots lack the same sharpness they once had in a pretty glaring way.

Kohli played surprisingly well but probably more cause it is a german event. No big deal from Gulbis as he is probably going to quit playing tennis any moment in the near future. Hope Cilic crushes Youzhny

Kohl's serve was pretty evil. It's been really good this season actually.

Meh, Gulbis' problems are not with his attitude, it was actually decent throughout the match.

His forehand is pretty bad, his movement is absolute shit and it seems that the depth of his shots is rivaling that of Cipolla's, and his second serve has gotten worse.

And you know what? All those are because he doesn't practice hard enough.

Is Gulbis still working with Gumy ? I thought that their new collaboration would be benefit for him...

He needs a real coach, not friends as coach. Some Gil Reyes wonder-work would help too.

Gulbis simply isn't that great of a player at this stage, but is that due to lack of practice or due to confidence? That's the big question.

It's actually a non-existent question. It's pretty obvious what the issue is.

Well now you know. I'll keep you updated throughout the clay court season on his progress, good or bad.

Mugbis should stick to whoring rather than tennis, that clown is a disgrace to the game.
