Steve once again winning a close match. He's so clutch! He had a couple of small openings in the third set he didn't take advantage of which I thought may cost him but was able to win the final tiebreaker. The service numbers are very good, hopefully he can maintain that in future matches.

I think Golubev will rise from this.

Shame. Golubev does have the weapons to be a very good player at least, but his only gameplan is hit hard. If that doesn't work, hit harder.

He does have some great power on both wings, but he can never be a serious ATP player playing with no strategy at all. There is potential there, no doubt. Now if only he had a coach who could work with him and unlock that potential (although probably it's his fault that he has made no strides).

Wrong. this loss will motivate him. He was very close. This result will actually make him rise the better because he can;t stand losing like this. he will fix it.
