Sure, troll. I am sure if Nadal lost 3 and 1 today, you would proclaim this tournament as fifth slam.

Re: New records: Most consecutive wins at a tournament

Which tournaments do Roger, Nole or Murray have the prospect of winning 9 times in a row to beat Rafa's record (Assuming Rafa never wins another MC which is highly unlikely) ?

None whatsoever. Roger is 30, he's not winning any tournament 9 times in a row. Novak's best streak is 2 AO, he won't win 9.

Murray - I don't even need to say anything, do I?

Rafa's record won't be matched any time soon, if ever.

Nole's best chances are at the Nole Open. He is also at a streak of 2 in Miami.

Re: New records: Most consecutive wins at a tournament

Roger has a streak of two in Basel and at the World Tour Finals. I doubt he can win the World Tour Finals another 7 times, but Basel is a slim possibility. For one thing even if he retired professionally they'd probably still give him a WC if he\they thought he could keep the streak alive. Now Basel is no Monte Carlo but a winning streak is a winning streak....

Federer Basel until he is 37....

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Re: New records: Most consecutive wins at a tournament

great stat for 8 in a row

even if MC is a glorifed 250 event

give rafa credit though- when he destroyed roger in 06 and 07- i consider those 2 wins amongst the greatest of all time

nole showing he is a 1 dimensional ball basher

I am sure his grandpa would have wanted him to play. Also, he picked up 485 points and some play money for the MC Casino. The MC clay perfectly suits Nadal's game. Rome, RG and Madrid will tell the tale.

Re: New records: Most consecutive wins at a tournament

Nadal hasn't even come that close to losing. He's been pushed to a deciding set four times in 42 matches.

2005 SF: d. Gasquet 6-7 6-4 6-3
2006 SF: d. Gaudio 5-7 6-1 6-1
2009 F: d. Djokovic 6-3 2-6 6-1
2011 SF: d. Murray 6-4 2-6 6-1

Nadal won the deciding set 6-1 all but one time; Gasquet come the closest to beating him way back in 2005.

Re: New records: Most consecutive wins at a tournament

its a shit tourney

i think some challengers are more difficult and more respectable than that shit hole of a place
you cant even look at the audience because its full of plastic old freaks
not a beautiful woman in sight- only gaarish freaks with boob jobs

if the taliban held a tennis tournament i'd consider that more prestigious than monte carlo

having said all that, good record- even if he did cheat to win it

God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God
