Re: Monte Carlo F: [2] Nadal def. [1] Djokovic 6-3 6-1

There goes the theory that Clay only accentuates the match up problems between the two :-)

Man, 8 straight Monte Carlo's has to equal a Slam!

Would not have minded this loss of Djokovic if he had at least showed up? Berdych would have made a better finalist.

Hope he comes back mentally for Rome.

Nole was beyond awuful, but Nadal will win a lot of confidence from this. He's, for sure, the #1 favourite for RG. He keep showing that he's the best clay player of all time. Gracias RAFA!

Nole, come back to Serbia to be with your family in this sad moment for all of you.

Re: Monte Carlo F: [2] Nadal def. [1] Djokovic 6-3 6-1

a true beatdown. i have expected it and have betting cash to prove it.
also, please spare me of the 'family tragedy' storyline. once you commit to playing the tournament, skip the funeral and stay to play nadal, no excuses anymore. he was beaten fair and square, even humiliated.
nadal was really good, serve was clicking, bh was outstandingly solid, etc.
djokovic was truly atrocious. can't remember the last time he was so bad. it's not just that there was no serve, and that he had no bh at all, it is the overall lacklustreness of his game and the lack of will which was apparent throughout. still, no bh OR no serve is sufficient to lose to nadal, let alone playing with no serve and without one wing.
this overall 'flatness' of the match reminded me of fed rafa sf in miami 2011. just no fight on the other side.
still to early to predict anything for RG. nadal will surely feel a bit more confident after this, but i feel that for him his tendonitis is more important than mental games. as for djokovic, i have no idea how he will play until the slams. i can only assume that his crew planned out when and where to up the regimen in order to bring his best to rg.

on a definite plus side - finally a nice hug at the net. all it takes for it is a win for rafa.

Re: Monte Carlo F: [2] Nadal def. [1] Djokovic 6-3 6-1

Novak not even playing at his 50%, that was awful awful stuff, no fight, no thing. Bad day at the office.
But what really counts in the end is that these 600 points nearly make up the difference of the points he lost in IW and Dubai from last year. So he's already defending all his points in 2012 when no one thought he could do it.

Rafa played a very good match in his best surface. Congrats to him, he needed this more than Nole.

Novak Djokovic nº1!

Didn't someone suggest Nole would use his grief to propel himself to a great win today ?

D fuk was that, would have been better if Djokovic just pulled from the tournament and went to his grandpa funeral,he wasn't even trying in the final.

Well, sir, it's this rug I have. It really tied the room together.

All in all, a horrible tournament. Juan and Julien are horribly injured, and now this. They should demote Monte Carlo to a 500.

Re: Monte Carlo F: [2] Nadal def. [1] Djokovic 6-3 6-1

Abysmal returning, abysmal serving, abysmal forehand, abysmal backhand and even abysmal movement. Horrible performance from Djokovic.

Rafa played well and did the smaller things better than in their previous match-ups, but it's much easier to do so when Djokovic is playing with about 10% of the intensity, depth, consistency and conviction he usually does. Of course Rafa hugs when he wins and not when he loses.

Wake up call for some annoying Noletards, but also not much to gloat for a bunch of deluded Rafatards...
I expect their next matches to be much more competitive

Re: Monte Carlo F: [2] Nadal def. [1] Djokovic 6-3 6-1

Djokovic sucked but a quick and easy loss like this is better for his psyche than a tight 3-setter like the one in Madrid 2009. He will bounce back easy from this, I think. But Nadal is going to be very confident the next time they meet so it's definitely going to be interesting.
