Re: Monte Carlo R3: Murray def. Benneteau 6-5 RET (Benne has a broken elbow)

I read he has a broken elbow and sprained wrist. He said he tried to hold the racquet and felt scared, so obviously he knew something was wrong. I knew his arm was a bigger issue than his ankle because he was holding his wrist and then getting treatment on his arm, and you could see he was more concerned about that.

Also his participation at the French is "uncertain".

Good that Fed's skipping the hazardous MC this year. Leave the rest of the top 10 to injure themselves .

Carole Bouchard: Broken elbow for Benneteau but not only : ligament damaged in ankle... Seriously... Sad.

Wow, that's so horrible. Sad, but also, it's totally unacceptable from the organizers and specifically, the people who maintain the courts in Monte Carlo, to allow two players have their seasons damaged, and see several other players falling and concerned about the integrity of the courts. Players should not be worried about damaging their bodies because the courts aren't maintained properly.

That was one of the worst injuries I've seen in tennis. You could tell from his reaction and the way he appeared to be shaking as he lay there on the ground that something was seriously wrong. It's ridiculous that the state of the courts is apparently responsible for two significant injuries. There has to be some way to fix it.

Even worse than I thought. Terrible ordeal for Benny.

My goodness. From what I initially heard, I was thinking of Monaco's fall. Now it looks like Monaco is the lucky one because yikes. Definitely won't watch the replay of this match on TC. Good grief.

Good luck Julien.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

From what I read, he "didn't want to blame the court" but god that's awful, something really needs to be done about it.
