Re: Houston SF: John Isner d. Feliciano Lopez 6-7(5), 7-6(4), 6-3
you can tell Berasategui's job is doing great to Feliciano, his backspin BH now tralvels fast through the court when it was just a very slow defensive shot. big confidence on his BH and improved mental strenght.
can't wait to see him on grass.
Isner's serve is incredible and it bailed him again.
73% First Serves In
8/8 break points saved
And these are routine numbers for him. Although his first serve is very overrated by some (it's nowhere near, say, Raonic or even Karlovic even today), his serve as a whole is the best on tour. Great first serve %, amazing second serve, ability to come up with clutch serves when break point down/in tie breaks.
It's too bad his return still sucks (got a total of one break in two matches vs Lopez and Sweeeting who both served at 55% and 48% first serves respectively). If he could return just a little bit better, he could a legitimate threat in Slams with that fantastic serve.
