Houston SF: Monaco def. [Q] Russell 5-7 6-1 6-4

So proud of you, Mikey. But Pico was simply a little too strong in the end. Mikey's serve diminished in the third set and that really cost him. Pico started hitting with better depth and making Michael run more as the match progressed and eventually wore him down. Good tough battle and win in the end for Pico.

Expected scoreline except the first set Monaco was shaky at the beginning of the third set, but luckily for him, Russell is very poor when the tension is bigger.

Great week for Iron Mike, but with a sad ending after leading with a break at the beggining of the third set. I know this are easy points for Pico, but I think if he would have wanted to have a chance of doing well in MC( still he can make R3, but no chance vs Ferrer when you're tired) he shold have skipped this event.

Very good effort from Mike to take that first set, and lead by a break early in the third. In all, an excellent week for him - probably about as good as it gets, considering his career to date, and his age. Hopefully he can regain a position inside the top 100 over the coming months, and get a few more cracks at some bigger money draws and matches. If anybody deserves a particular reward for effort, it is him.

Great week for Iron Mike glad he as able to have it in his home town.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Pico didn't perform great, so we'll see how he gets on tomorrow.
