God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God

Re: WWW Indian Wells SF: Nadal vs Federer

Why didn't he change his coach? Paul Annacone still have no decent tactic for Fed.

He played the same way over and over again.

He can't expect a Sampras-like way anymore, the conditions are far more different from 10 years ago.

Nadull 6-4 6-3

Fedmug will lead 4-0 in the 1st set with double break. He will then get 10 BP opportunities in the 2nd set and net every return.

Good thing Nole will save tennis once again.

The most torture part is that Federer will give us hope during the match

Only complete ignorants would suggest otherwise. But I've been a member of this board since 2007 and have seen worse claims, so I understand your defensiveness.

Re: WWW Indian Wells SF: Nadal vs Federer

Colder weather should mean a bit less bounce than on hot days when rafa's ball was exploding off the ground.

Really federer needs to make nadal beat him with his backhand and roger needs to hit his forehand consistently to rafa's backhand and approach on his backhand like 90% of the time and force nadal to pass down the line on the backhand. If he does this and nadal still wins than hats off.

Had he done that in australia he may have won that match. He just cannot be stupid and go to the forehand on big points and come in and get passed and pump up nadal. He really needs to not only serve well but serve mostly to nadal backhand on deuce side and mix in the kick serve out wide on the ad side with serve and volley from time to time. He needs to hold easily as he has to work too hard to hold serve and when he holds serve easy he relaxes and plays better off the ground:

The only way roger wins is if he does following:

1. Serving well meaning 60-65% won't cut it; he needs to serve to nadal's backhand alot on the deuce end and kick serve and volley to nadal's forehand on the ad side from time to time and mix body serves. Bottom line: Needs easy holds to have any chance to break rafa and most likely will have to have multiple breaks a set to actually be sure to win it since nadal breaks back so well.

2. BIG BIG mistake from australia was fed had so much success approaching on the backhand of nadal but he went away from it and went to the forehand and got passed in spectacular fashion. Hopefully his team and fed realize this and THEY MUST go almost exclusively on fed hitting his forehand into approaches to rafa's backhand and cover the cross court volley and force nadal to hit the DTL backhand and make him do it many times. The only time he should go to rafa forehand on purpose is if he down 40-love with rafa serving and is going to lose the game anyways or fed is serving at 40-love and decides to go once to the rafa forehand.

3. Slow court = big topspin and fed must avoid getting too many rafa forehands into fed backhands. He's gotta run around as many as possible or try and redirect the backhand into rafa backhand. He used to only slice backhands and then started doing only backhand drives against nadal but now he has to really mix it up and again run around it to hit a forehand if possible should always be done and directed to rafa backhand. MUST AVOID TOO MUCH RAFA FOREHAND INTO FED BACKHAND. MUST RUN AROUND AND HIT FOREHANDS OR HIT his BACKHAND INTO NADAL BACKHAND.

But we know he won't do all the above or may for parts of the match but oh well. Great run to get to the semi's and defended his points. Thats all he could ask for considering he nearly withdrew.

Think: Rafa in 3
Hope: Roger

I'd love to watch a FEDOLE final for once, something different for a change and it would definitely be better to watch than another RAFOLE match!!!

Re: WWW Indian Wells SF: Nadal vs Federer

I have suffered so many disappointments as far as this match up has gone in the past, getting my hopes high and then watching the same old shit pan out
So I am not going to expect much from Fed today, its been a better run than I expected and I am satisfied with his performance this tourney

Re: WWW Indian Wells SF: Nadal vs Federer

Welll Nadal had to fight against a Nalbandian who showed up today. Fed had a walkover vs. Del Potro who left his tennis game at home today.

Still when Fed-Nadal play each other, you can forget how their form was through the tournament thus far, or the level they are on. Its the Moonball to the Backhand and thats all she wrote on slower courts.
