Indian Wells R2: [21] Dolgopolov def. Darcis 6-7(13) 6-3 7-5

Disappointing. Steve served for the match at *5-3 in the third. Those two huge comebacks in the first set were for nothing.

Dolgopolov led the first set 5-*2 30-15, *5-3 40-30 and had a 5-1 lead in the first set tiebreak, as well as a *13-12 lead, before losing three straight points to lose the set. Given the fact Dolgo was in almost every single return game throughout the match on Darcis' serve, this was a potential routine win that turned into an adventure. Dolgo's first serve percentage dropped at the end of the first set which ended up costing him his break advantage, and he was broken to go down 3-*5 in the third set with more poor serving. Only lost twelve first service points throughout the match and won 68% of service points to 60% for Darcis.

Steve fought as he always does, but it wasn't enough. Just too much pressure he was under every single service game and that told the difference in the end. Steve had 30-15 at both *5-3 and 5 all in the third set before being broken in both games. 2:46 it took to complete the match, a hard fought victory for the Ukrainian.

I didn't watch it. But I don't think this is the "old dolgo" who can trouble any player.

Too bad that it was on a non-televised court, so no idea what went on in this match.
Well done, Dolgo. Davai!

Dolgopolov is a streaky player, nothing new.... and that doesn't make him any less dangerous

Have to give Marcos the edge going into the match.

Stronga,Monfils,DelPo,Nalbandian,Berdych,Gulbis,Ha as and Djokovic are the players I support the most.

Dolgopolov is declining, there's no doubt about it.

no signs of decline you fool, what is your basis? he lost a close match to Tomic at Australia? Dolgopolov always has been streaky and that is not surprising by his bizarre playing style and odd racket handling.

no signs of decline, he often makes matches more difficult than they need to be

Yes, corrected. He had 30-15 as well at 5-5 and lost serve. Very disappointing.

I don't think so. He will never be the player who consistently routines his opponents.

Paradorn Srichaphan
Kei Nishikori, Donald Young, Somdev Devvarman, Dustin Brown, Steve Johnson, Yannick Maden
Robert Farah, Clement Reix, Alexander Dolgopolov, Nathan Thompson
