Indian Wells R2: Djokovic stops rising Golubev 6-3, 6-2

Nole did not play very well but it was still enough to avenge Marko's loss in Dubai.

Golubev won four games against Nole last year. He is improving.

Bit too many errors from Nole but oh well, 1st match I guess..

Same result Golubev beat Marko.

Re: Indian Wells R2: Djokovic stops rising Golubev 6-3, 6-2

If Golubev's footwork/movement were even average, he'd be so much better a player than he is. It's almost deflating to watch, as he has such naturally powerful shots and great timing when he's in position to attack. However, he's not in position often enough to hit them without hitting late and missing and he doesn't even try to move his feet to get into position a lot of the time. It's way too easy to knock Golubev off balance and he has zero improvisational/defensive skills.

With that said, Nole played in 3rd gear and that was good enough to win comfortably.

Golubev rising? You mean the naughty way? Cause the tennis game is not there.
