Kubot you are so useless.

Didn't think I would say this but I am glad that Roddick won. It was really sad to watch him for set and half. And Kubot . All this time one of bigger enigmas for me. Don't know what to think about him. He is too journeyman to be a serious player but at the same time like his game

They are peers, but 9 years ago when Roddick was on the top of the tennis world, Q-bot could only dream about a match like this one (he was playing mainly Futures tournaments then). The Pole should have won this match though, taking into account Roddick's current form and the progress of the match

Terrific return game. Good serve. Awkward game. Defensive movement terrible though though, so stuck to slow courts, and screwed vs anyone who attacks him (which is why playing pushers like Roddick is great for him).

The forehand isn't great.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Indian Wells R2: [30] Roddick def. Kubot 4-6 7-6(5) 6-3

Kubot's forehand is shaky and his second serve is extremely shaky. His entire game is really confidence driven. When he's confident, his game works. When he's not totally 100% feeling it, he can error himself quickly out of a match.

Today, we saw both sides of that.

It's kind of depressing how low Andy's confidence is right now. He'll need to scrape a few more wins like this.

Fight and determination have always been his greatest strengths. Unfortunately he doesn't have a world class serve anymore. Needs to find a way back to 140mph or he won't get back to top 20.

:-) That thing is agricultural, to put it kindly. Still, at least he can clock it if needed, it's not totally anaemic.

Can't believe Roddick ended up winning this, he is playing at a very low level. He did continue to fight and grinded it out though. 3rd set was the best i've seen him return in a long time. Roddick said after the match that he thinks he can build his ranking back up if he can stay healthy....maybe he can. Needs to keep winning for some confidence for sure though.
