Indian Wells R1: Sweeting def. Stebe 6-2 6-2

Dominant from start to finish. Ryan faced no break points, never got taken to deuce, won all but five first serve points, only three double faults. Had chances throughout the entire match on Stebe's serve to break. Stebe had 30-0 in the first game of the match but was eventually broken in a 6+ minute game. Sweeting held and then Stebe fell behind 0-40 in his second service game before rallying to hold, and fell behind 0-40 again at *1-3, getting back to 30 before dropping serve for the second time in the set.

Stebe saved three break points to open the second set and had several game points but was broken on a double fault in a long game, and got broken to love at *2-4.

Impressive performance for Ryan. Playing a lot better this season thus far. Stebe still isn't very good on hardcourt.

Expected. Stebe's career is going downhill after embarassing chokes to Nishikori in Brisbane, and Hewitt in AO respectfully.

Mixed feelings. On one hand, I really really hate Stebe. On the other, I like making fun of Sweeting and he's actually decent lately.

Sweeting will still fall from the top 100 in about a month, but he's at least now playing at a level where he can regain that position in a more sustainable way.

At least Nadal is only struggling to beat Djokovic in ATP tour. Stebe is struggling to win a single match . His career is ending before it even starts. That's just...phenomenal

Re: Indian Wells R1: Sweeting def. Stebe 6-2 6-2

I had this down as a three-set win for Ryan, didn't expect such a dominant win, but he is really good on his day.

Cedrik is falling behind this season, and will need a strong clay-season to get back up to top-100 level. I think only playing one challenger so far this year has been a mistake, I think he should play a few more, if only for confidence to transfer to Tour Level.
