Unlike Goran, Andy's serve has gone backwards since his peak years. He won't have a big weapon to bail him out.

Trolling is defined by Herring as baiting and luring others into pointless and time-consuming discussions.

4 criteria of trolls:

1. Appearance of outward sincerity.
2. Posts designed to incite anger or "flames"
3. Posts designed to waste everybody's time with useless argument
4. Desperate desire for attention, any attention at all

Recognize them, don't engage and put 'em on your ignore list where they belong. Feed a troll and you're just encouraging their attention-seeking.

No. If anybody can do it it's Nalbandian or Davydenko (at the USO). But I don't see it very likely either to be honest, the TOP players are at a very high level and are very consistent (this wasn't the case in 2001).

Re: Can Andy Roddick pull a Goran Ivanisevic?

No, unfortunately for Roddick that ship sailed in 2009. This is truly a pity because he couldn't have asked for much better circumstances. In 2009, he had no Rafa to contend with, Djoko & Murray were not playing their best, and Fed was tight as hell trying to break the Grand Slam record. Now even if the top 4 were all sucked up into a black hole, Roddick's game has declined so much in the past year that I doubt he could get past an in-form Berdych or Tsonga at Wimbledon. I hope I'm wrong though because I'd like to see Roddick end his career on a high note.

Re: Can Andy Roddick pull a Goran Ivanisevic?

Ok what if the top 10 all got injured at the same time? could he win then?

A-Rod would only contend with guys like Lopez, Karlovic,Raonic, Tomic, Isner, Monfils, and other top 30 guys for the title.

Re: Can Andy Roddick pull a Goran Ivanisevic?

Maybe if all of the following happen:

– his serve is firing for a whole two weeks
– he faces anyone other than the Top 4 in the finals OR, at worst, he faces Novak (Andy has a winning H2H for some reason)
– somehow he doesn't play Roger in any match
– somehow Tsonga, Ferrer and Berdych all fall in early rounds

Re: Can Andy Roddick pull a Goran Ivanisevic?

The problem is that his serve doesn't seem to be firing like it did any more. There are also too many guys now who can take him out, not just the top 4.
But I'd love for that to happen.
