According to his blog, he pulled muscle on his left calf as he landed after hitting a second serve on his advantage at 4-4 in the second set. He managed to hold that game with an ace but couldn't move after that. So he decided to quit. He withdrew from doubles too and will need two weeks' rest. It's a pity but that's life for a 35-year old tennis player.
