But the guy who is two years younger probably isn't a former #1 who's ranking has been steadily dropping for a while. Up and coming is an expression that would make no sense applied to Roddick currently.
i don't think anyone WANTS to get rid of Roddick but obviously it's no fun as a fan seeing him play nowadays when their is little faith that he can go far in tournaments.
love the guy and would like him do well at Wimbledon some more but his career is almost over and it's not that anyone wants to get rid of him as much as life is going to rid him from the sport naturally; can't help or change the fact that the body weakens and players lose speed as they age
<3 Roger Federer <3 David Ferrer <3 Juan Martin Del Potro <3 Ernest Gulbis <3
People WANT to get rid of him? Oh really Andy? Talking just from my point of view i just find his game boring. I don't want to ged rid of him but i just don't like him and i can't see him causing any damage on the top players anymore
He's just a complete hack now, simple as that. I've always found his press conferences entertaining, but his game is disgusting and his serve has lost potency. If he plays for another 2 years it'll just be pathetic.
I still remember the classic Duck article from Mac's '03 Wimbledon magazine which had the headline "Andy Roddick has been around so long, some may see him as a spent force... yet he is only 20 years old"
