Nole isn't a grinder but its borderine depending on the match up and his form. Hes more of a neutral baseliner who has the ability to be offensive for periods of a match.

funny, 'a split personality thing'. I agree tho. he simply has a very good balanced game. I said this so many times... I loved him being so aggressive back in 2007 but it didn't work out. now when he has finally found this balance, he is winning slams.

Murray has the game to beat the Top 3 & has proved this on numerous occasions. His mentality, forehand, & 2nd serve seem to be improving under Lendl. While so far he has only once beaten 2 of the Top 3 to win a tournament (Canada 2010), I should not be surprised to see him do it again this year - even perhaps in a slam.

He is a grinder with poor fitness. He tried to tire Djokovic out in AO and then ended up tiring himself despite having an absolute cakewalk to SF. That tells you a lot about his slam chances. Imagine if he gets a hard draw and has to play a few 4-5 setters before second week and THEN having to play Djokovic and Nadal back to back. He's not always gonna get RG2011/AO 2012 draws....

That is the most uncontroversial statement ever uttered on MTF.

Which ATP player does that statement not apply to?

I would say Murrays fitness is superb, have you watched him play recently? In terms of pure strength he is on a par with Nadal atm. His problem is elsewhere, but he looks more and more confident.

People mistake Murray's low energy moping periods during matches for poor fitness. Thats mental ineptness, not fatigue.

but cmon comparing him to Novak you just see that he really lags way behind in the fitness department .He got tired at the end against Novak at the AO .Novak then came back with a day rest and outlasted Nadal in 6 hours .Murray can never ever do that

What planet are you on? Novak was moping around in that match too and everyone was suggesting he was too tired to compete (I of course called bullshit on this fairly common tactic). Murray's fitness is not lagging behind Djoker's. He had a pretty big mental lapse in the 4th set, but looked every bit as fresh as Nole in the 5th.

Murray should start beating Nadal someday just like djokovic started last year. Starting that at USO 2012 wouldn't surprise me. Then I could see him beating Federer or Djokovic once in a while at a slam and taking 1 or 2 slams.
