Re: Dubai Final WWW: Roger Federer defeats Andrew Murray 7-5 6-4

Good win for Federer. Loved that inside out forehand combo to set up the last match point. As ever, fast court tennis will make for a great highlights package.

Has to be said that Dubai has once again been a bit flat tennis-wise. Only four matches went to deciding sets, and only one of those was after the first round, when Tipsarevic blew out Cipolla 1 and 1 at the end.

Proves that all the appearance fees in the world won't necessarily produce the exciting matches. It still guarantees a better event than Delray Beach, though.

Djokovic is a horrible #1, as was Nadal. They are grinders. Their games are ugly and unimpressive. They are cheaters and they're bad for tennis. That doesn't mean they don't get better results than Murray, because they clearly do.
Hahah, you can say that about Nadal, but I don't see how Murray is more agressive than Djokovic.

And you think murray's groundstrokes are THAT superior to Djokovic's??

Because short sliced balls are tougher for opponents to attack. I have seen enough Federer's matches against Roddick, Soderling and Del Potro to know it he loves playing it.

Indeed, perhaps the opposite.

Today was just federers day. Don't think murray will be too dissapointed. First set was very tight until fed got lucky to break. From then on Andy didn't play to well, making alot of errors while federer was very solid.

Take a bow, son

Federer's forehand was oozing class. His movement wasn't the best today which probably kept Murray in the match. NID who was going to win.

maybe his focus is on djokovic at the moment.....these are good signs because he is focusing on nadal, djokovic, slams and not much on 500s.....
...then why the hell did he enter a 500 level tournament

Nice win for Roger, 1000 points in a couple of weeks it's definitely more than I expected. Too bad slow courts are coming around now...

It's very convenient that Djokovic is being left out of these tournaments, considering those are his favorite surfaces. Nadal getting to second round only? What? Are you serious?
