I don't really see anybody coming up to take the place of the current top players. My tennis viewing days may soon be at their end.

Re: Two best youngster under 21 years ago.

I think a guy who will improve slowly but surely will last longer than Raonic who is "monolithic". I've seen the guy tried to go to the net on occasions, though, but he does it only when facing top guys, when he is clearly dominated so it was not very effective. Serve-only is useless against Murray and Djokovic, they are just too good at ball-retrieving. I see better future for a guy who can mix-up his game, like Goffin and, should I say it, Dimitrov.

Re: Two best youngster under 21 years ago.

I had a question for the OP about the thread title, but I can't decide whether it should begin with who, what, why, where or when

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.

Re: Two best youngster under 21 years ago.

Raonic already established himself as potential future of men's tennis. He has a well defined weapon (the serve) and he isn't arrogant, cocky and is willing to put in the hours to improve the weaker aspects of his game. Tomug, on the other hand, is a weaponless pushing junkballer with huge ego and an attitude of self entitlement despite not winning even a 250 title. He's a clown, end of story. Overhyped, overrated jester with no game and arrogance to match Noserer.

Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras.

And 21 Years Later.. Nobody Really... Just that Raonic has more fans for his humble attitude but not much for his results.

Tomic isn't a promising youngster, he's already goat. Been on tour for 4 years, just trolling all of tennis and biding his time till the perfect moment to stroll through to legend status.

Dimitrov
It's true he is a bit of a mental midget but at least, he has obviously a big potential and loads of talent.
You can always improve your mental toughness (see Djoker) but you cannot improve your talent.

Good point, but it's also true that a player of lesser natural talent might consistently outperform more talented players, who can't perform to the best of their abilities at crucial points in a match, because of mental frailties.
I like to think that Dimitrov will improve his mental stability and he certainly has time to do that, but he is almost 22 now. If he doesn't break through this season or next there might well be the added pressure of he himself starting to doubt he will make it big.
Anyway, this is all speculation now. You are definitely correct that he has the most natural talent out of the bunch.
