Marseille QF: Del Potro beats Gasquet, 7-5 7-6(5)

Gasquet had sps in both sets. Del Potro didn't play well but he found a player who is even mentally weaker than he is.

Actually the tb was quality... Del Pony just seems to take a looong time to get into matches lately... he also served pretty well.

Better player won.
Juan did not play well at all though. Needs to step it up against Tsonga.

Thank you Lord. Why is Gasquet even playing? He is so mentally weak he could fall to pieces during the match. But I like how Del Po thanked the rude French crowd for shutting up all the time

High quality tennis

Del Potro saved set points in both sets which is a good turnaround for him because lately he was losing set point-up sets too often.

Great performance by Gasquet

Except for the bit where he lost in straight sets.

As always great court positioning from Gasquet . What's wrong with Gaquet and people who are leading him all these years ? Running 3 meters behind baseline and when he can't run anymore he tries desperate shot and if it goes in his camp is impressed . Instead of clap they should punish him for every point like that . Maybe this game would bring results to someone else but with all that he isn't a great mover and his defensive skills aren't good . Really case for monitoring

This was a good match, and certainly Richard's best this year.

del Potro served well at the important moments and this made the differnce.

With Gasquet's shotmaking ability he really should be stepping into the court and taking the ball early. Instead, he tries to play like Albert Montanes 10 feet behind the baseline. He's just a tactical mess.

I love all aspects of TENNIS.

Beautiful shots by Gasquet, both FHs and BHs. Pity Del Potro was solid. Still, as a Richard's fan, I am optimistic about the coming US Masters.

Gasquet played a good match today and had set points in both sets but couldn't convert and also hit some GREAT winners. Credit to Del Potro, he served great on the big points!!

Gasquet, take this kind of form/level into Dubai please!!

This was a rather good match, especially that TB.
Very clutch from Del Potro when necessary, some disputable tactics from Gasquet, but on the whole... good stuff.
Congrats to JMDP - now go and win the whole thing you big teddybear.
