Just shows how disgustingly bad Fish's efforts were.

Hope bandwagon ends here.. Olivetti won 5 points on return in 12 Llodra´s service games and Tie-break, c´mmon such statistcis are bad even for Karlovic... Llodra was good, Ollivetti was rushing net like idiot, decent returner-passing-shot would break him more than once for sure

Actually not many players stand a chance against Llodra serving at 80% on a fast indoor court..
but Olivetti needs to work on his return big time

Totally expected.

Isner at the age of 22, Karlovic at the age of 24 played their breakthrough tournaments, so very optimistic result here for 20-year-old Olivetti. These type of guys needs experience above all, knowledge how to use the biggest weapon. Today Olivetti served two double faults in the tie-break (having served 1 in six service games before) and at 5:5 (30-40) in the 2nd set delivered the 1st serve weaker than his standard 2nd serve (and it was fault serve!) - these are unacceptable mistakes for this type of player which obviously had to cost him the match.

Olivetti's first serve percentage in this match was 62%, it was 49% against Fish.

Llodra wasn't serving this well last match- it's just Olivetti has no return game what so ever and put no pressure on him.

Isner is a special case, he had concurred for his university before and had just turned pro, I think, when he reached that final in Washington 2007. He needed very little experience among pros.

But plenty of tie-breaks he played at the university helped him in Washington in winning 7-6 in the 3rd against anyone. With this power in serve doesn't really matter whether returns guy ranked 5 or 245.

Because of such high FS% llodra´s 1st serve wasn´t that good, if he was going for much better FS, his FS% would be lower, BTW Llodra´s serve is pretty predictable from AD side, he is almost 80-90% using his lefty-serve wide, so really if someone can´t prepare better and read better serve, really can´t expect to win matches. Also his serve wasn´t so special, i mean he was hitting hard o.k. 220-230km/h and more but no placement, few aces, but then once ball came back his rushing net style wasn´t able many times control ball which came back pretty fast- what is logical that how faster you serve fater the ball came back at you. He has potential nice to see someone new who can make noise, but his return sucks big time and his 2nd serve too risky, too many DF´. 1st serve not best placement and not great tactics back-up your serve with volleys all the time

yes he sais himself this experience helped him, but I wonder if Isner might not have emerged earlier if he had turned pro earlier
