Acasuso lost a final in his first ATP tournament. Anyone knows who did the same beside him? (four guys won their first ATP tournaments)

I don't recall anyone blaming Acasuso for those losses.

Argentina did well to take it to a fifth match against Russia, whereas Del Potro was the most blamed player for the loss against Spain.

Re: Jose Acasuso announces retirement

Best of luck in the next phase of your life, Jose.

I loved watching both of his groundstrokes. If he hadn't had bad luck with injuries, his career might have been different. In addition, if his movement were a little better, and if he were able to put more returns in play he could have won a lot more.

Hope you're gonna do a GOAT one for Hass mate.

Chucho should be commended for having the co-ordination to single handed backhands while constantly stoned.

Ajde.

Re: Jose Acasuso announces retirement

I always loved Acasuso's game, plus he had a one-hander. Sad day.

Re: Jose Acasuso announces retirement

Very good player who never quite hit the heights, but when he was on he was great to watch.

I remember that epic 5 hour 5 set final in Stuttgart which he lost to Ferrer in 2006 - he threw everything he had at that match and cried a little bit at the end when he lost it.

Hasn't he retired a few times before? Or am I confusing him with another Argentine?
