Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss King's Quest For 100 Titles

Federer will need to beat Nadal and Djokovic back to back in order to win. When was the last time he did that outside of the indoor circuit?

Welcome to MTF...

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss King's Quest For 100 Titles

nonsense. why does fed have to do it. somebody else can knock off nole too.

his confidence has already taken a hit. it will be chipped away some more after RG.

how the hell is he going to get past fed and then nadal. nadal is going to demolish him in the final if he even gets there.

and then nole goes to wimbledon a beaten man. its sports. deal with it.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss King's Quest For 100 Titles

Of course you can't never count Roger out of any title, including RG.
But I think this year his chances in Paris are so little, 10% and i'm beeing generous.
He could win over Nole if he plays his best tennis, but Rafa is so hungry on the clay. He needs to take this title.

But, of course, Roger can play the best matches ever, so let's wait... ATM the important thing is reaching semis, so he can win a good ammount of points, all the things that happen after that, are gifts.

Now, when he step on the grass, it'd be a different story. This year he'll play 3 tournaments on that surface.

He'll probably win Halle, the only big deal there is Nadal, and I think he can still win over Rafa on that surface, but he's still his most difficult match-up.

Wimbledon-Olympics, I think he'll be ultra motivated there, he can win the tournament and world number 2 or even 1 there... I think that's a boost for his confidence.

Let's see how his grass level is, we'll see a preview on Halle, ATM, Roland Garros is almost obvious it'd get to a Rafole final with Rafa winning in 3.

But, of course, things can happen.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss King's Quest For 100 Titles

fed`s fortunes on grass are tied to his fortunes at RG. fed has to get certain number of matches under his belt on clay.

i believe that number is 7.

I hope no Nadal vs Federer, it will be a one bad final and we have those enough. Nothing is more predictable than Nadal whipping Fed in clay.

Last year's final was great though... First three sets were massively competitive and could have gone either way.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss King's Quest For 100 Titles

I would have to agree with whats being said, his motivation to do well for the grass season this year will be phenomenal for extra confidence going into the Olympics and the opportunity for number one if he plays well. That being said #75 could very well be Halle with the bye for the top four, he definately should not be skipping this year! Title #76 possibly at Wimbledon if djoker is in his half who wouldn't want a Fedal final and epic repeat of 08 but with a different outcome just this once .

Go for the hattrick. Equal Mcenroe's 77 in Olympics.

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

77 would put him third all time, with McEnroe. Nobody's close to Fed in the unified tour era.

Federer - Emperor of the Slams, King of Hard, Lord of the Australian Open, Lord of Wimbledon.
