The Connors record is surely way out of reach. Roger needs 35 more titles. If he plays 5 more seasons after this one that's 7 a year, & he's not getting any better, is he?
Agreed, difficult to see it happening if Nadal and Djokovic keep playing and he fades more severely...but stranger things have happened.
When was the last time he took 4 titles before Roland Garros? 2006, the year he won 12. Now he's done it this year.
I think there are earlier posts here questioning whether he will equal or pass John McEnroe's 76. It's not far-fetched to say it could happen at Wimbledon if he takes #75 at Halle. It's not a big stretch that he'll get close to 80 this year. That still leaves him with close to 30 to win in 4 or 5 years -avg of 6-7 year. Lendl is sitting in 2nd with 92. At this point, that's doable.
For 110? It might take is some strange combination of fate to make it happen. What happens if Nadal decides to retire in the next year or two after he has won a record # of Roland Garros titles? That wouldn't surprise me, especially if his knees are really bothering him. He might decided to take up golf. It's more difficult to see Mr. Djokovic leaving the scene, but one never knows. He might get married, have kids, it could change his outlook and drive...it has happened.
If those two top players were out of the way, then who is there left to stop Federer, besides Federer?
Murray? Ferrer? Tsonga? Del Potro? Berdych? Young guys? Raonic? Tomic? Harrison?
