Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss Warrior King's Quest For 100 Titles

actually arkulari fed may have his chances at the u.s. open as well.

again a few things would have to go right: he has to gun down everybody in straight sets. and no-djok and the clay warrior would need to falter.

clay warrior is already having knee issues again and no-djok is going to feel the pressure sooner or later.

so chances are are around here and there. you just have to snatch them by the balls when they come.

You know, i'm pretty worried about Nadal knees.
I think you both would be more worried than me, you support Rafa.

But... Even thinking that without Rafa, Fed will have many more chances of winning big things. I really don't like Nadal out of the big tournaments.
His tennis is different than any of the top 10, and, even if I don't like that, he gives the tournament another aura, another type of player that is needed for any tournament.

I'd prefer Fedal finals than Fedovic or Nadalovic. I think that match has more history and is more important in e history of tennis.
I hope he's ok.

I actually think Bernard Tomic will easily win career-year mixed doubles slam in 2020.

Jealous? Yeah, you are, you dirty hater.

Title #74 coming in the clay season. Probably Madrid.
there's a site that keeps track of that
http://live-tennis.eu/race
he does but Novak will pass him if he beats Ferrer.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss Warrior King's Quest For 100 Titles

general viruzzz he refuses to practice year around on clay and he says NO to improvement mate. not much we can do. he has his 10 slams and his $200 million.

he has fucked up knees so he enters both singles and doubles in these 2 hard court events. and then he has his practice sessions on hard courts. that is simply too much activity on hard courts in a very short period of time. keep also in mind that he has to work twice as hard as the next player for his wins.

maybe we should stop caring. hell compared to him, we are the ones who are in shambles. he sleeps in palaces and has the world by the balls. and we sleep in cardboard boxes under bridges.

Okay, I understand your point of view, but I won't be happy with another Grand slam without both Federer and Nadal in semis. They're the eternal nemesis, they need to be there for tennis sake.

I actually think Bernard Tomic will easily win career-year mixed doubles slam in 2020.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss Warrior King's Quest For 100 Titles

I reckon 74 comes in Madrid if he plays at the level he has been. People underestimate Feds credentials on Clay, he's by far the most accomplished claycourter of his generation and probably second best active, after Rafito of course.

Halle should be at least a final, but Roger has struggled on Grass as of late, but that has been in these last two years where his form was no where near its current state.

Wimbledon, really all depends on how he plays, if he plays well he's odds favourite alongside Rafa

Olympics, regardless of form and his success prior, he will dig deep for a victory here. I can see him in the final at least.

Anything after that is dependant on his form and determination. WTF should be at least a finals appearance I reckon.

On another note, is it confirmed Rafa's knees are failing again? I hope not, I agree with Viruz he's a player needed at big tournaments, if you like his game or not.

The best scenario for Federer is #74 in Madrid, defend his points in Rome, defend his points at Roland Garros, #75 at Halle, #76 at Wimbledon and #77 at the Olympics (at Wimbledon).

More realistic might be #74 at Halle and #75 at the Olympics. Wins there would mean 1000 points gained as neither was played in 2011. It's gravy for him if he does anything better than what he did last year at the other tournaments. Best chance for most gain elsewhere - Wimbledon, where he only got 360 points last year.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss Warrior King's Quest For 100 Titles

I think we are in a really weird position.
You know how MTF is. Federer won IW = Goat. Number one before Wimbledon. 3 next slams for Fed. Djokovic and Nadal are done.
Fed lost to Roddick. He's done. He'll never win a slam again. He'll be number 5 by June. He'll never won a big title again.

I think ATM we just can wait. Because I see the "Dubai-IW Federer" winning BIG titles like Wimbledon for example. But I don't really know if we're gonna see that or a best Federer anytime soon.

I think he's gonna play his best tennis in the Olympics, that for sure. But I don't really know what could happen before that, because there are really big tournaments before the olympics, and Federer needs to be on fire if he wants to keep the legend alive. (He already have the status of legend, and with that February-MidMarch momentum he had some "OMG HEZ ZTILL DE BZT" here at MTF).

So, again, I think only time will tell. Also Djokovic-Nadal-Murray aren't perfect, they could have a muggish clay-grass season. I think the big menace for Fed is Rafa. I don't see 2012 Nole as a big, big menace to Fed. But who knows? Maybe the 2011-Form still has some last words, or even better.

ATM. I don't know what to think.

I actually think Bernard Tomic will easily win career-year mixed doubles slam in 2020.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss Warrior King's Quest For 100 Titles

From the past few weeks, Federer has been the best player on tour. Need to see his next tournament form running through the summer to sensibly gauge his chances now.

Re: Roger Federer : The Swiss Warrior King's Quest For 100 Titles

federer stupidly took roddick seriously as an athlete. the roddick win was overdue but it was a pity gift from fed, because in fed's words everyone should "be happy that champ roddick's still around".
who was federer kidding?

champions don't talk about retiring at age 25, then use injury excuses for losing so much,
& avoid clay and quit evolving, for the sake of tennis and its fans.

fed compared rodd-fed to fed-hewitt and predicted his own losses to roddick at age 30.
roddick, the miserable gimp who is allergic to the reality of sport humiliation.
however, he was incredulous in montreal 2003 and blamed his first loss on nervous anticipation of reaching number 1.
there's a real fierce rivalry where the top player lost 7 straight times in quality matches, which caused him to go down to number 2. it's not rodd-fed, hewitt-fed or rafa-fed.
